Summer IT Student (Calgary)

Goodfellow & Schuettlaw is currently seeking an IT Support Technician student to join our team for the summer.

This position will be responsible for providing Information Technology (IT) system support services in our Calgary office while providing remote assistance to the staff in our Edmonton office. The IT Support Technician will coordinate directly with our external IT Support Team and is responsible for IT resource management, hardware installation and maintenance and troubleshooting.

Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized and has confidence in their technical and time management skills as well as excellent communication skills. The candidate must be able to work independently, follow instructions with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced, professional team environment.

Qualifications Include:

​

  • Experience working with and troubleshooting Windows Desktop and Server OS

  • Experience working with and troubleshooting  Office related applications

  • Hardware & Software troubleshooting  - experience with PCs, Laptops and network

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Windows 10, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Analytical mindset with a focus on troubleshooting, innovation and creative problem solving

  • Excellent communicator with proven customer service practices providing support on phone and in person

  • Effective management of priorities and multiple deadlines

  • Fast learner, self-starter, proactive, positive, creative, and flexible

 

Responsibilities Include:

​

  • Resolve user incidents regarding software

  • Conduct remote and in person troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot networking and connection issues.

  • Support and troubleshoot network printers

  • Correspond with and provide collaborative support to other team members

  • Responsible for setup and configuring new IT equipment

  • Provide internal IT support (server security, software installations and hardware maintenance) to all employees

  • PC Hardware troubleshooting
