From our 'bubble' to yours, happy holidays.

All of us at Goodfellow & Schuettlaw would like to thank you for your support this year. From our 'bubble' to yours, we wish for you and your family health, happiness, peace, and joy during this holiday season and through the coming year.

In a year where we have been required to be distant, in lieu of festivities and gifts, we have chosen to donate to a local charity that is focused on bringing loved ones together.

Give A Mile brings families together in trying times.

Give A Mile is a group dedicated volunteers who believe strongly in the power of visits from loved ones for people in palliative or critical condition.

At this time last year, a young family's 5-year old daughter, Arya, was selected for clinical drug trials to fight brain cancer, in Pittsburgh, PA. Dad, Mom, Arya and a new baby brother had flights and accommodations covered, but two siblings remained in Calgary.

A medical social worker told them about Give A Mile, and after hearing the story the Flight Review Team was able to fulfill their requests allowing the family to return to Calgary and be together for what turned out to be Arya's last birthday and Christmas season.

We acknowledge that what we call Alberta is the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples, presently subject to Treaties 6, 7, and 8. Namely: the Blackfoot Confederacy – Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika – the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney Nakoda, and the Tsuu T’ina Nation and the Métis People of Alberta. This includes the Métis Settlements and the Six Regions of the Métis Nation of Alberta within the historical Northwest Metis Homeland. We acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
